Grab the Carbos just above the cave and then Cut through the bush to the west of the entrance beat the Bug Catcher and his Burmy, Butterfree and Beedrill, and then go north to reach Pewter City.
At the bottom of the eastern section of Route 2 is an Elixir on the ground grab it and then walk back up to Diglett's Cave. After awhile you'll find an outpost that has one of Professor Oak's aides and he'll give you Sacred Ash, the unique, one-time use recovery item that can only be found on Ho-oh otherwise. You'll find a Pink Apricorn tree next to a house talk to the man inside for a free Nugget, and then keep going down. Before going up to Pewter City, head south to explore the Route a bit for some items. You'll emerge on the eastern half of Route 2, where you'll be stuck unless you brought your Cut slave. It is the game's only Snorlax so, although it's not easy, you'll probably want to catch it have a sleep-inducing Pokemon and some Ultra Balls handy. Snorlax can learn many good Physical attacks like Body Slam, Earthquake and Crunch, while this particular Snorlax is Level 50, holds Leftovers to restore some health after every turn, and knows Block, Rollout, Crunch and Giga Impact. It is a Normal-type Pokemon with excellent HP, Attack and Special Defense, mediocre Defense and poor Speed, making it an ideal candidate to use the move Curse, which boosts its Attack and Defense and drops its Speed. Snorlax has been consistently strong in every installment of the franchise.
You'll find Snorlax to the left, so save your game, open your Pokegear, tune it to the Pokeflute station on the top of the globe and speak to Snorlax to start the battle. Route 11 has a Green Apricorn tree and four Trainers: a Psychic with two Exeggcute and an Exeggutor, a Youngster who has Sandslash and Crobat, another who uses Growlithe, and a Psychic with a Xatu.
TM86 - Grass Knot, a Special Grass-type move that damages based on the target's weight, is in the top-right corner of the Route, and a hidden Revive is in a hole in the fence along the Route's north border. Buy some Ultra Balls at the Pokemart and go through Silence Bridge to Route 11, which is mostly tall grass that houses repeat Pokemon like Drowzee's evolution Hypno.
Return to Lavender's Radio Tower and the suited man will thank you for fixing the Radio Tower with a Pokegear expansion card that receives Kanto's radio channels, including a Pokeflute station.
